Street Market Report - December 30th, 2012 - Last Market of the Year

Revenue Report:

1) 50/50 Raffle: $41.50 (408 tickets sold - $103 in pot - $51.50 - $10)
2) Coffee/Juice: $55.57
3) Tables/Tents: $72.00

Total revenue for the day = $169.07

Tent and table rental was low due to the lack of rain. This shows clearly that the
$10 per day does have quite an impact on the vendors and it would obviously
be better if we could lower it through sponsorship or other means.

A dollar extra was collected in the 50/50 pot - this is roughly the normal variance.

There were Bannock sales, but Yesterday was tired and I told them that they could reconcile
with us later.

Without the Bannocks, we collected a revenue of $1,272.21 in December. Surprisingly, this makes
December the second best month of the year for revenue, second only to July ($1,347). This is incredible
considering the rain. This is proof that the market is more than viable in the winter with proper funding
for tents for all the vendors.

$935.55 is the amount predicted in the petty cash box (not bad after paying off our loan to VANDU early).
I have not done the cash count yet, but will do this after I reconcile with VANDU for stipends for the
last two Sundays and for the last Street Market Committee meeting.

I will prepare a full end of year accounting before the next street market committee meeting.

Operations Report:

This was the second market where we shifted the times of the guards and marshals.

Glenn and Lorna did a good job in the morning, but the set up went a little
slower due to Jacek backing off and letting the RPICs take the lead.

Boomer and Dominic were RPICs in the afternoon.

William from SFU showed up to try and collect names for the ticket campaign, but
he seemed to be rather unprepared. William needs to be told to come to the Saturday
meetings so we can discuss what needs to get done BEFORE the market starts.
He left after being there for roughly an hour.

Louise L. came and worked on the ticket campaign and collected three more names. I will
follow up with VANDU to find out what is going on with the 36 names that have been collected
so far in the last 3-4 weeks. If nothing is happening, I will add these names to a spreadsheet
and run a check on them myself.

The group with food came, I had a nice turkey dinner late in the day.

The guy that donated donuts last week donated about 25 sticky buns this week.

There was a minor altercation between a native woman and an older asian vendor, but I
think that it was resolved, the woman went away.

There was an older lady that came up to me and wanted me to "Call Security" because she
could not sit down on a bench and enjoy her coffee. I told her that there was a market going
on today, and the benches are used by the vendors. She was quite mad, and insisted that it
was a public park. I told her to fill out a complaint form. She then proceeded to push a vendor
off an area of bench and cause trouble. It was only mildly amusing.
