It was a nice day, cool breeze so it was not too hot. Again, no rain.
Lots of tourists were spotted looking at maps, trying to get to China Town.
Lots of traffic from the cruise ships - thanks to Penny Ballem for promoting the market to the cruise ship companies.
We had a celebrity visitor to the market - Andie Macdowell. Research tells us that she is shooting a movie in North Vancouver called "Cedar Cove".
From about 10am, a new VPD team visited the market. Mark Bradshaw, and partner 2719 (did not get his name). They were both excellent, were very friendly with the volunteers, and looked like they were enjoying the market. They stayed until after 6pm, and their presence help keep the market family friendly and peaceful.
There was only one confiscation during the day, and after talking to the volunteers, it was clear that the vendor was selling items that had tags on them, and that he was warned several times by the volunteers.
We hope that this will be our permanent contingent at the market in the future, and will allow a continued cooperation between the VPD and the volunteers and vendors.
Again, as with last week there were almost no major incidents. No ambulance calls, no major fights, and not even a major argument. It was certainly that the presence of a friendly VPD team contributed this good atmosphere.
