Street Market Report - Feb 10, 2013

It was cold and cloudy, but not raining. The sun came out in the afternoon and the market was packed. We had some trouble keeping some vendors off the bike path. This highlights the fact that we need more resources - tents to continue the barrier along the Greenway, and more volunteers to walk along and communicate with vendors.

Fund Raising Report:

1) Coffee/Juice: $54.00
2) Bannock: $20.00
3) 50/50 Raffle: $50.05
4) Tables/Tent Rental: $106.50

Total = $230.55

Costs for the last week were $279.49 ($150 for new tent + assorted expendables for market)
Profits for the week = -$48.94
Total in Petty Cash = $1,738.44

Vendor Counts:

110 @ 2:00 pm
400 customers (roughly)

General Report:

Will showed up to do some vendor outreach. Louise was not there. We continued to hand out rules sheets and meeting times and locations so that the vendors will get registered.

We had a row of 4 tents on the east side of Carrall St. and the barrier seemed to work for the second week. We did have a few vendors setting up blocking the bike path on the south end, and it was a constant struggle to get them to move a few feet. I've included a picture of one of these vendors.

The item of the day was a mini wine chiller that sold for $10.

The garbage truck came early (5:50pm) and some of the vendors had not finished packing up. We made the garbage truck move, and then threatened to dump all of their stuff in the garbage if they didn't pack up. It was a little stressful, but the park got cleaned by 6pm.
