Summary of the day...

The day was mostly incident free. No police needed to be called, and
no major fights broke out.
Most of the vendors were excited that we got our permits now, and the
clean up was EXTREMELY
good. Vendors all packed up and left by 6pm. I've never seen that
before. I guess the rumors that
we were going to close really had an effect.

A group of residents of the Van Horn building showed up and created a
'tribute tree'. They asked
people at the market what their favorite thing about the market was,
and what they wanted to see
and then they hung all the messages on the tree. It nearly made me
cry. Here was a group of
professionals, not low income, going out of their way to tell everyone
and the city that they supported
the market. This is true community building.

This was the day. Michele did a great job as #1 even though she was
very nervous, and Kevin did
not show up so we will have to ban him from #1 and #2 job for a month.

Please come to the Saturday meeting!

Cheers,

   Roland
