OK, not the best day ever, but within $5 of the best day ever. Did it
without freezies.
1) 50/50 = $44.25 (third or fourth week in a row where raffle total
exceeded $100)
2) Bannock = $75 (thanks to Kelvin and AFD)
3) Rentals = $76 ($6 for tents, $2 for tables - we now have 12 tents,
when we started with 5)
4) Coffee/Juice = $110.26 (everything sold out by 2:30pm)
Major expenses were:
$45.70 at the superstore for pop, iced tea and cream
$10.53 on assorted bits to fix the tents
$10 for a street market megaphone so we don't have to borrow CCAPs anymore
$40 for Jacek, and $40 for Kelvin
Even with all of this, our gross profits for the day were around $120.
Petty cash went up by around $110 (capital expense
of megaphone not counted in gross profit calculation)
Several incidents required the calling of police. Specifically, at the
end of the day, I was trying to get a vendor to clean up his stuff in
the park, he began swearing at me, then squired a liquid in my face. I
called the police. I'll do it again.
We made a concerted effort to police all the approved vending areas,
and pressured Carl to move and take up a more reasonable amount of
space. Fred was not pressured. So far he is sucking up to everyone
enough to not come under scrutiny.

Saturday Meeting (my notes were not the greatest, so here is a summary)
Agenda
East side of Carrall St.
Cleanup fish times
Identifying out of town or 'rich' vendors
East side of Carrall St.
Vote was extremely close as to whether we would even try to move the
vendors into the west side bicycle path.
We decided to try it and then report back to the city about whether we
though that it was possible.
Cleanup fish times
There was some confusion about what time the garbage truck comes and
what time people should
fish for jobs.
Morning - fish at Carnegie at 10am
Afternoon - fish at 2:30pm - stay until equipment is back in the Lux
Cleanup - fish at 4:30pm - garbage truck is 'scheduled' for 7pm, stay
until this is done
Vendor Strategy
We decided that we would start pressuring the vendors that took up too
much space. Carl, the video tape guy
is a candidate, and Fred, and possibly Wilma.
