Biggest day ever without bannock (we decided to take a break, bannock
cost almost as much as we made last week with a lot more work)
1) Coffee/Juice/Pop = $151.60 (everyone was drinking pop)
2) Table/Tent Rents = $61.50 (a banner day, rented 4 tents for $6 a piece)
3) 50/50 Raffle = 69.50 (636 tickets sold - dead on, $159 in pot,
$79.50 first prize, $10 second prize)
4) DNC Sales = $2.51 (we got rid of a lot of crap, did not really try)
Total = $285.11
Instantaneous profits were $134.16 (not counting capital improvement
expenditures), not a bad day.
General report
Two incidents which involved the police
1) Fight between illicit drinker and vendor, drinker would not leave
vendor alone, kept throwing his stuff on the ground. Police intervened
2) A woman was drunk and showing her private parts to children and
generally annoying a lot of people. She spat on DJ. On DJ's request,
police were called. The woman was escorted away.
Police came and talked to us again at the end of the market, they
thanked us for making a special effort on the Van Horn triangle. While
we were talking to them and trying to build trust and help the market,
Jenn and Terry from Cop Watch kept antagonizing the police by yelling
at them and filming us talking to them. It was not helpful to the
cause and if they insist on doing this, they will not be welcome at
the market in the future.

Additional Stipends
$25 for breakfast (we could not give breakfast this morning because
carnegie kitchen was not open at 9am, so each volunteer was given
$2.50 at the end of the day)
$40 for Jacek
$10 for Tracy (for bannock supplies that did not result in bannock)
Additional capital expenditures
$50 - used 10x10 canopy tent
$11 - gloves, vest, new grabbers
On the whole, the day was good. We closed the streets an hour earlier,
and this took some of the pressure off of the crew during set up. The
downside was that breakfast was not possible.
The police were helpful at the end of the day to get the vendors to
pack up so that we could clean up the park. Cop Watch was detrimental
toward our attempts to build trust with the police.
