This week, the street market 50/50 draw made negative one dollar.
Here is the summary of what happened.
First prize = half the money
Second prize = $10
Total money found in the jar was $49.10
The 10 cents was put back in the jar, and the first prize winner was
given $24.50
The second prize winner was given $10.00.
This left $14.60 for the pot.
Now, Dave Hamm tells me that he bought $5.59 worth of street market
supplies (he handed me a receipt).
Then, he says that he buys $10 worth of cigarettes and that he is
supposed to be paid back for the cigarettes out of the 50/50 money.
This means that $15.59 worth of expenses left the street market with a
total final take of -$1.00
So, the street market still owes Dave Hamm $1 for this week.
Does this make sense to everyone? Does Dave Hamm really buy $10 worth
of cigarettes every week that is paid back out of the 50/50 money?
This is my report.
